Origins of Men’s wallets

“He leapt as fast as thought itself. Behind his back hanged a silver sack – a marvel to see – and inside it was the head of the Gorgon.”

Hesiodus

The silver sack that nymphs gifted Persaues with, alongside flying sandals, before he embarked on his expedition to defeat Medusa was the kibisis (κίβισις) owned by the god Hermes. This word is often used in the tales of the Ancient Greeks to refer to medium-sized sacks inside which one usually put precious objects and, sometimes, food as well. It is one of the predecessors of the wallet, term with which kibisis in often translated in modern languages.

Before it became the small handheld object containing paper money we know, the wallet had a shape more similar to that of a shoulder bag. It was around the twelfth century, when cash spread as normal currency in Europe, that the wallet took the form we are familiar with, of generally unchanged size from then to the present day.

Handmade in Italy, these leather and cuoio wallets are made using high-quality genuine bovine leather, which ensures not only an elegant and sophisticated appearance but also remarkable durability and resistance.

The artisanal craftsmanship of Brucle wallets translates into attention to detail and care that sets them apart, giving each piece added value and superior quality compared to mass-produced products. The choice to use high-quality leather and cuoio also ensures that the wallets are wear-resistant and maintain their original appearance over time, even becoming more beautiful.

One of the most appreciated aspects of Brucle men's wallets is the possibility of personalizing them with engravings. This option allows each wallet to be unique and special, with the addition of initials, dates, or customized logos. The customization with engravings makes the wallet an inimitable accessory, fully expressing the character and style of its owner.

Brucle wallets are available in a wide range of colors, including black, blue, navy blue, green, gray, brown, cuoio, red, and green. This variety of colors allows you to choose the most suitable wallet for your needs and preferences, making it easy to match with any outfit or accessory. The color palette also offers the possibility to select a wallet for every occasion, whether formal or informal.

In the extensive range of Brucle men's wallets, various models can be found based on individual needs and desired style. Among the most popular models are the classic wallet, compact wallet, vertical wallet, wallet with money clip, cardholder, and document holder. Each model is designed to meet the diverse needs and preferences of men, ensuring practicality and functionality without sacrificing aesthetics and quality.

The classic wallet is a timeless model, ideal for those looking for an elegant and functional accessory. Equipped with compartments for banknotes, credit cards, and documents, it offers a practical and organized solution for storing your papers and money.

The compact wallet, on the other hand, is designed for those who want a smaller and more manageable accessory without sacrificing the ability to hold banknotes, cards, and documents. Thanks to its compact design, it fits perfectly into pants or jacket pockets, ensuring comfort.

Brucle also offers luxurious wallets made from exotic leathers, such as crocodile and alligator wallets and python wallets. All leathers are CITES certified, for the protection of wildlife. Exotic leathers, in addition to being precious, are also unique: each BRUCLE men's wallet is a one-of-a-kind piece, different from all the others. For the interiors, we have chosen soft bovine leathers. Upon request, we can also create men's wallets in ostrich leather, lizard leather, or any other type of leather.
